Chamas (a word meaning 'flames' in Portugese) has brought the unique experience of a Brazilian steakhouse, known as Churrascaria, to Durham since 2004. Located in Brightleaf Square, this Brazilian steakhouse is unlike any other dining experience. Everything, from salads to prime cuts of beef, pork, lamb and chicken, is all-you-can-eat for one fixed price, a concept known as the Rodizio. Start off with a trip to the extensive salad bar, complete with cheeses, pasta, and vegetable appetizers. When your table is ready for the main course, simply turn your card on the table from the red side to the green side, and gauchos, who continuously make rounds, bring hot skewers of beef, pork, steak, and chicken, cooked to perfection, right to your table and cut it in front of you. Groups can easily spend 2 hours dining, sipping on a choice wine, while servers bring various Brazilian barbeque meats to your table.
