Although Krispy Kreme may have started right here in Winston-Salem, that doesn’t mean we don’t have room in our hearts – or our stomachs - for other bakeries and doughnut stores. The most prominent of which is Dunkin’ Donuts. Started in Massachusetts in 1950, Dunkin’ Donuts is now the largest bakery and coffee chain in the world. At any one Dunkin’ Donuts store you can find over 50 different types of doughnuts, about a dozen different choices of Fair Trade certified coffee, and several other baked goods.
