Building Description

At Sanders Theatre, you can watch plays and live performances from almost any angle. Over 1,166 seats are arranged in a semi-circle around the stage, which helps the audience feel almost physically engaged. Above the seating gallery is a massive chandelier, and the stage is flanked on either side by statues. It is modeled after the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, England.

History

While many had envisioned Sanders to be utilized for commencement ceremonies, it is primarily used now for lectures, live performances, and famous guest speakers.
