Arthur M. Sackler Museum
Building Description
While the art inside the museum is generally centuries old, Sackler's outside appearance features a more modern appearance with brick and glass. Inside the Sackler Museum, you’ll find wonderful collections of art from the Far East, including Chinese and Japanese sculptures, calligraphy, and paintings. In addition, Sackler houses paintings and drawings from the Middle East and Turkey. Finally, you’ll find several galleries featuring Greek and Roman art, including ancient coins and vases.
History
Sackler has been a great hub for arts coming from the Far East. It will continue to do so in years to come, and is beginning to become involved with teaching art from Greece and other Mediterranean countries.
