Josephus Daniels Student Stores

Building Description

The Josephus Daniels Student Store, otherwise known simply as ‘Student Stores,’ faces directly into the Pit. The main floor is where you’ll find the Bulls Head Bookshop, the convenience store, and an endless supply of UNC apparel (shirts, hats, shorts). Upstairs is the book store for students, supplying every book for every class offered at Carolina. School supplies are also located on the top floor to the right of the escalator. The bottom floor is the Post Office and Ram Shop, where you can purchase laptops and other computer gadgets. Just outside the Union, located in the same building, is the Daily Grind Coffee Shop.

History

The Josephus Daniels Student Stores has recently undergone a massive internal renovation, completed in 2006. The Post Office and RAM Shop are now located on the bottom floor, but everything else has stayed in the same place. There is a much larger supply of Carolina gear, along with a new convenience store for a quick bite to eat on the way to class. Since it has just undergone its renovation, it probably won’t revamp its services anytime soon.
