Kelly Writer's House

Building Description

The Kelly Writer's House is a place to express oneself through the power of words. Its location on Locust Walk, allows students from all over campus to easily access its facilities. Once a person walks into the House, it is easy to forget your are in the busy city of Philadelphia. The House is a two story house, including to a library, classrooms, and even a fully stocked kitchen. The Kelly Writer's House, also houses open mic nights, allowing any student to read his or her work in a cafe style atmosphere. Students are also able to take advantage of their editing service by setting up an appointment with one of their fine tutors. The Kelly Writer's House is a great place for any student who wants to expand their knowledge in literature based subjects.

History

The Kelly Writer's House was founded by a group of students in 1995. The actual house was built in 1851 by S.A. Harrison as a suburban expansion project.
