Poteat Residence Hall

Building Description

Poteat residence hall is home to the campus post office and 264 upperclassmen students. The building is co-ed and set up suite style with a large courtyard in the middle, very similar to Kitchin residence hall just opposite from it. Both Delta Sigma Theta and Kappa Sigma make Kitchin the home of their halls and lounges. Students enrolling in summer school and wishing to reside on campus will generally live in Poteat

History

One of the six original residence halls on the Reynolda campus, Poteat was built in 1955 and dedicated to William Louis Poteat. Poteat graduated from Wake Forest in 1977 and then served as president of the school from 1905-1927.
