Hall of Graduate Studies

Building Description

The Hall of Graduate Studies is a Gothic-style building that houses 171 students. It is located near the Sterling Library and Payne-Whitey Gymnasium. The basement of the building contains a computer room, laundry room and lounge with cable television, a pool table, a ping-pong table, foosball, and air hockey. There is also a kitchen in the basement, which has four chairs and a table, microwave, electric stove, refrigerator and sink. Stained glass windows and ornamented ceilings adorn the building.

In 1996, the McDougal Gradate Student Center was established in the Hall of Graduate Studies, where it is home to the Graduate Career Services and Student Affairs office.

History

Designed by James Gamble Rogers, the Hall of Graduate Studies was built completed in 1932.
